JAIME GUBATON

Jaime Gubaton is a proliVic contemporary artists with three solo exhibits, numerous group shows with in the country and abroad, and participation in art fairs in the region including Asia Contemporary Art Fair, Korea International Art Fair and Affordable Art Fair Singapore. A graduate of Fine Arts at the University of the East, Jaime’s art career began with recognitions garnered from prized art awards such as the 2nd and 6th Petron Student Art Competition (Grand Prize and Runner Up, respectively), 60th Art Awards of the Art Association of the Philippines (Runner Up), 2007 Metrobank Art and Design Excellence (3rd Place), 16th PLDT Visual Arts National Competition (Grand Prize), and 35th Shell National Student Art Competition (1st Honorable), to name a few. His plight as an artist is understandably outstanding for his excellent painting skills and utmost receptiveness in conveying emotions in visual form. His series incorporate urban scenes and unique elements in contemporary Filipino living. Composed in a non-traditional way, often similar to a montage or assemblage of sorts, Jaime’s works are not only Filled with an interesting palette but also an apparent keen observations of objects, people, structures and scenes witnessed on the streets.
